Hullo! I'm ContraGal. I've played the bass clarinet for 4 years and I started playing the Eb Contrabass last year in 8th grade full time. Sadly, I am being put on bass clarinet for high school, but that probably gets me first dibs on the contra if we need it. I also play guitar, harmonica, piano, recorder, and some tin whistle. I'm going to be the only freshman bass clarinet player when school starts, so that should be fun.
Other stuff
I can say the alphabet backwards in under 5 seconds.
I love Star Trek and M*A*S*H.
Low instruments FTW!
So ya. That's about it.

Dude. Contrabass is the coolest thing ever. I wish I played one. Low brass and low woodwind=the best. I play all the saxophones, trombone, euphonium, baritone and hopefully tuba. Welcome to this haven of band geeks. Please stay awhile, as the forum is going dormant and needs to be revived.

Welcome to the boards! I LOVE the sound of low reeds, but I just stick around with my good ole' Bb soprano clarinet. ^-^
